We are thrilled to welcome Helia, our new facility dog, to the GSPP Rehabilitation team!
Helia joined us recently and will work alongside her handler Ben Laffoon, PT, at Penn Medicine Rehabilitation, an inpatient rehabilitation unit of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Trained by Canine Companions, Helia (“sun” in Greek) brings many skills and comfort to her work. We look forward to seeing the positive impact she will have on our patients, families and team members at the Rittenhouse campus. And Helia will stay connected with her facility dog mentor, Wellie, who retired in 2025.
