

Nurse Externships
GSPP Rehabilitation’s nurse externship program is designed to provide nursing students an opportunity to strengthen your skills under the direct supervision of a registered nurse preceptor. We want to help you ease the transition from the classroom to the working environment.
Program Details
- Externs participate in a nine- to 12-week summer program designed for nursing students
- Locations include Penn Medicine Rehabilitation, an inpatient unit of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and Penn Medicine | Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Specialty Hospital, a long-term acute care hospital
- Both are located at our Rittenhouse Campus at 1800 Lombard Street in Philadelphia
- You must have completed a minimum of one clinical nursing course in an accredited school of nursing
- You must have CPR certification (BLS for Health Care Provider with the American Heart Association)
