Good Shepherd Penn Partners was established on July 1, 2008, as a collaboration between two respected health care organizations to provide a comprehensive continuum of post-acute care.

This includes both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, as well as long-term acute care.

The formation of Good Shepherd Penn Partners marked a significant advancement in rehabilitative care, combining the clinical expertise of Penn Medicine with Good Shepherd Rehabilitation‘s century of evidence-based practices. This partnership optimizes post-acute care for patients in the greater Philadelphia region and aligns services throughout the Penn Medicine system, guided by a shared vision and core values.

In 2024, Good Shepherd Penn Partners became GSPP Rehabilitation, modernizing its name to leverage the established GSPP moniker and align with industry standards:

Size & Scope

With nearly 1,000 employees, GSPP Rehabilitation, official therapy provider for Penn Medicine, delivers a variety of services across 30 locations in the city and suburbs of Philadelphia and parts of New Jersey, including:

  • Penn Medicine Rehabilitation, an inpatient rehabilitation unit of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, featuring 58 beds for inpatient rehabilitation inside Penn Medicine Rittenhouse.
