It was an inspiring and enlightening Penn Medicine Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) and GSPP Research Week, which took place June 3-7, 2024.
Multiple events occurred throughout the week to celebrate scholarly accomplishments, showcase research and connect GSPP teams with others who have shared interests.
- Research Week Gallery of Scholars featured 15 PM&R and GSPP posters submitted for display throughout the first floor of Penn Medicine Rittenhouse. Did you know? This past year, GSPP nurses and therapists provided 48 presentations at 22 national, state and local conferences.
- Presentations ranged from outpatient therapy and nursing teams throughout the network, as well as acute care therapy teams at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) and Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH).
- Virtual poster slam, where presenters provided a two-minute overview of their projects
- Keynote speech delivered by Carla Scanzello, MD, PhD, associate professor of medicine at Penn Medicine and co-director of Translational Musculoskeletal Research Center at Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center
- PM&R resident research presentations
- Lunch and learn with tips and tricks for poster development
