Penn Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine Makes Newsweek’s Top Rehabilitation Providers List

For the second consecutive year, Penn Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine is named as one of America’s best physical rehabilitation facilities in a national ranking of facilities by Newsweek magazine. A unit of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the PIRM, located at Penn Medicine Rittenhouse, is distinguished as one of top physical rehabilitation facilities in the state (ranking 4th) and in the top 20 percent in the country.

“America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2021 highlights the nation’s top inpatient rehabilitation facilities based on the quality of care, quality of service, quality of follow-up care and accommodation and amenities,” according to Newsweek.

“Being honored by Newsweek as one of the top physical rehabilitation providers in the state is a testament to the high quality and compassionate care that our care teams provide every single day,” says Jessica Cooper, Executive Director, Penn Therapy & Fitness. “Above all else, our goal is to provide care that enables our patients to reach their goals and make the fullest recoveries possible.”

Facilities ranked on the list are certified Medicare and/or Medicaid inpatient rehabilitation facilities. In addition to an expanded methodology for this year’s rankings, Newsweek and market research firm Statista Inc. included CARF accreditations and model systems as measures.
